Beauty Machine Warranty: What 12 Months Really Covers (and What It Doesn’t)

Every supplier’s brochure says the same thing: 12-month warranty. So the number tells you nothing. What tells you everything is what happens on day 91, when a handpiece stops firing and you find out who you actually bought from.

This page explains what a real 12-month warranty covers, what reputable suppliers exclude (and why that is normal), how a claim should work, and the seven questions to ask before you send money.

Why Warranty Terms Tell You More Than the Price

A warranty is a promise about behavior in the future, and the future is where cheap suppliers disappear. When you compare two quotes and one is 15% cheaper, check the warranty wording before the price — vague terms, unwritten promises and “don’t worry, we take care of everything” are exactly the gaps a problem will fall through. The price negotiation guide lists this among the top red flags.

What a Real 12-Month Warranty Covers

A professional warranty, in writing on the Proforma Invoice or contract, covers:

  • Manufacturing defects of the main unit — the machine fails under normal, correct use within 12 months of arrival
  • Defective core components — the parts that fail inside the machine, repaired or replaced at the supplier’s cost
  • Remote diagnosis and technical support — video troubleshooting in your time zone, for the life of the machine

One detail most buyers miss: when does the clock start? Serious warranties run from arrival at your port or door — not from shipment, which would make you pay for ocean time. Get the starting point written down.

What Reputable Suppliers Exclude — and Why That Is Normal

You should expect clear exclusions, in writing:

  • Consumable and wearing items — protective lenses, filters, crystals, and other parts consumed by use
  • Accessories and handpieces after their coverage window — ask what applies to each item, because “warranty” is not one blanket across the whole box
  • Man-made damage — drops, water ingress, wrong voltage, unauthorized opening of the case, skipped maintenance

Why is this normal and not a scam? Because consumable wear depends on how your staff use the machine, which no factory can underwrite. What separates a good supplier is not pretending these things never fail — it is keeping the parts available at fair prices after the warranty ends. A supplier who stocks spare parts can ship you a replacement component in days; one who does not will quote you a new production run and six weeks of waiting.

Spare parts kept in stock — the real test of after-warranty support.

This is the question to press: not “is everything covered” (nothing is), but “how long do you keep parts for my model in stock, and at what price?” our main case machines have full stock for 10years. the spare parts 2-3days will delivery out.

How a Claim Should Work, Step by Step

A professional claim process is boring, and boring is what you want:

  1. You send evidence — a short video of the fault, the machine’s serial number, and your order number
  2. Remote diagnosis — the technician walks your operator through checks on a video call; a large share of “faults” are settings, cables or operation
  3. Resolution — either a fix on the call, replacement parts shipped, or (rare, for major defects within warranty) the unit repaired or exchanged per the written terms
  4. Freight responsibility — who pays shipping for parts, which direction, under what terms: this must be in the PI, not decided during the argument

Keep the original packaging for at least the warranty period — repairs and returns are dramatically simpler when the machine can travel safely.

Seven Warranty Questions to Ask Before You Send Money

  • Does the warranty run from shipment or arrival?
  • What exactly is covered, item by item — main unit, handpieces, accessories, consumables?
  • What is excluded, in writing?
  • Who pays freight for warranty parts, both directions?
  • How many years will spare parts for my model stay available?
  • Is remote support included, in which language, in which hours?
  • What evidence do you need for a claim, and how fast is the response?

Any supplier worth a container order answers these in one email. How a supplier behaves at this stage is a reliable preview of how they behave at day 91 — the supplier vetting checklist builds this into a 10-minute routine.

Warranty Red Flags — Walk Away From These

  • “Lifetime warranty” — no company underwrites a lifetime; if it is not defined in months and in writing, it does not exist
  • Warranty only mentioned verbally or on a chat message — if it is not on the PI or contract, you have nothing
  • No exclusions listed at all — either they have never processed a claim, or they plan to refuse yours
  • No named process for claims — “just message me if anything happens” is not a process

For context on how machines should be checked before they ever reach you, see how professional pre-shipment testing works — a supplier with real QC has far fewer warranty claims to argue about.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a 12-month beauty machine warranty usually cover?
Manufacturing defects of the main unit and its core components under normal use, plus remote diagnosis and technical support. Consumables, wearing items and man-made damage are normally excluded — in writing.

Do beauty machine warranties cover handpieces and accessories?
Terms vary by supplier, which is exactly why you ask item by item and get the answer on the Proforma Invoice. Handpieces and accessories often have different or shorter coverage than the main unit.

Who pays shipping for warranty replacement parts?
It depends on the written terms. Confirm both directions (parts to you, defective parts back if required) before you pay the deposit — freight surprises are the most common warranty dispute. The shipping guide explains how freight terms work.
